Mechanical & Electrical Installation Works at United Utilities Ellesmere Port & Oldham Waste Water Treatment Works
Edwards Elite Engineering were asked to fabricate and install new process water, fuel gas, oil and exhaust pipework along with steelwork platforms to gain access to a newly installed carbon filter and 2 x Jenbacher 320 containerised engines at United Utilities Ellesmere Port and Oldham Waste Water Treatment Plants. Edwards Elite were also asked to sub contract out and manage the installation and testing of the high and low voltage electrical services and associated earthing.
Engine Build
Edwards Elite had to supply labour to assist
with a contract lift on assembling both of 320 Jenbacher containeriesed engines and installing all the roof mounted equipment and pipework. Labour was also supplied to position all main items of equipment such as the Carbon Filters, Boosters, Chiller, Oil Tanks and Water Pumps etc.
Design
Edwards Elite were asked to supply the following design work:
- Design and Calculations for the Engine Container Access Platform to BS5950
- Design and Calculations for the Carbon Filters Access Platform to BS5950
- Design and Calculations for the Gas, Water and Oil Pipework including Pipe Supports
Fabrication & Installation Works
The works required the use of our coded welders to fabricate the pipework, supports and access platforms. Skilled Edwards Elite operatives were on site to install the fabricated materials by operating multiple types of lifting equipment/machinery from SL10 Genie lIfts & Telescopic Handlers to running 35 Tonne Contract Crane Lifts.
